More than 41 per cent of Canberrans fully vaccinated

THE ACT will have a “nation-leading vaccine program”, Chief Minister Andrew Barr vowed at today’s (August 29) covid press briefing, ahead of Friday’s opening of a government-led mass vaccination centre at the AIS Area.

He said the centre would process 24,000 Pfizer vaccinations a week.

There had been more than 31,000 vaccines administered in Canberra over the past seven days, including 14,000 first doses.

The ACT’s total number of vaccine doses delivered into arms stood at 233,621 of which 65 per cent were for eligible people 16 and over (and 61.5 per cent of 12 and over).

There were 141,791 Canberrans full vaccinated, which equalled 41.2 per cent of eligible people 16 and above (and 39 per cent of 12 and above).
