Police search for Phillip carjackers

POLICE are searching for two men who tried to car-jack a vehicle from a woman at Phillip Oval yesterday (December 12).

At about 10.20am, near the rear car park at Phillip Oval off Irving Street, one of the men approached a woman in her car and demanded she get out of it.

He got in, however he was unable to operate the car. A short time later the two men fled in a different, white coloured vehicle.

Prior to the incident the offenders were seen playing with and revving a chainsaw at the rear of the white vehicle which had its boot open.

Anyone with information, CCTV or dash cam footage from around the time of the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
