THREE of the 16 new COVID-19 cases identified up to 8pm yesterday (August 22) were infectious in the community.

Thirteen of the cases can be linked to already existing cases and three remain under investigation. The total of active cases in the ACT is 137, and four of them are in hospital.

ACT chief health officer Dr Kerryn Coleman said two of the cases are covid positive but are in hospital for other health-related issues.

The other two cases are being treated for covid in hospital but are not in intensive case, she said.

The cluster of COVID-19 cases identified in the disability community yesterday has grown to 15, with a disability support worker confirmed in the 16 new cases today.
