Big wet closes sports grounds

UPDATE: All ACT government sports grounds will re-open tomorrow (May 14).

HEAVY rainfall has closed sports grounds across Canberra today (May 13).

All ACT government turf sports grounds won’t be open for training except for the Melrose and Nicholls synthetic fields, and the Woden athletics track.

Match play is unaffected today and can proceed.

City Services will asses the condition of the grounds with the aim of grounds being open for training and match play tomorrow (May 14).
