CHANGES to bus interchanges and timetables are being made to prepare for the construction of Woden’s CIT and the next stage of the light rail.
The government said today (October 5) that a temporary bus interchange was being built on the existing bus layovers, located to the east of Matilda Street, so the old interchange could be demolished to make way for the new CIT campus.
The temporary interchange would allow buses to continue, until construction on the new light rail interchange was complete.
A new bus timetable for Canberra would be released before term one begins next year, replacing the current interim timetable that was implemented during the peak of COVID-19.
Adjustments to the new bus timetable would include route changes over Commonwealth Avenue to make use of detours in place for light rail construction and the raising of London Circuit.
