THE Canberra Cavalry will host their oldest rivals, Sydney Blue Sox to start the baseball challenge series on January 28.
The two clubs met at Blacktown in November 2010, and have competed for the Hume Highway Cup ever since.
Now, both clubs have agreed on a more accurate name for their challenge trophy, the Kent-Oxspring (KO) Cup.
The change is to honour “two of the greats” of Australian baseball. Steven Kent was on the mound for the Cavalry and Chris Oxspring was pitching for Sydney.
Chris Oxpring has said it’s an honour to have his name on a trophy.
“I’ve always loved the challenge of playing against Canberra,” he said.
