Covid death as hospital cases set new record

THE number of COVID-19 cases in ACT hospitals has once again reached a record high, as a new covid-related death is reported.

The death of a man in his 50s was reported today (June 30) by ACT Health, marking 79 covid-related deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Canberra has also reached a new record high of 122 people with COVID-19 in hospital. Two people are receiving care in the ICU, but none require ventilation.

The ACT has recorded 1250 new cases today, from 706 PCR tests and 544 RATs.

Across Canberra, there are 6730 active cases, and 157,678 cases recorded in total.
