Long awaited ice centre gets green light

A long awaited ice sports centre in Tuggeranong is a step closer with the ACT government announcing its support for the development.

The new facility, to be built on Rowland Rees Crescent in Greenway, will include two ice rinks and curling lanes and will be built to International Ice Hockey Federation standards.

Cruachan – an investment company – and its development partner Pelligra, will design, construct, own and operate the $40 million facility.

“The ACT Government has signed a Heads of Agreement with Cruachan and Pelligra,” said Minister for Sport and Recreation Yvette Berry.

“This is a significant sporting infrastructure project for Canberra.”

A new ice sports facility in Tuggeranong was a 2020 ACT Labor election commitment.
