No RATs at Kambah testing clinic

RAPID antigen tests (RATs) will not be distributed at Kambah’s COVID-19 testing clinic until further stock is secured, ACT Health says.

The Kambah clinic is closed today (January 21) but will open tomorrow (January 22) and Sunday (January 23) to conduct PCR tests only.

ACT Health says COVID-19 testing clinics across the capital will be focusing on conducting PRC tests with supplies to conduct PCR tests now back to “near-normal” levels.

Testing clinics at Mitchell, Garran, Kambah and Nicholls will operate primarily as PCR clinics, says ACT Health, with (RATs) available in “limited” circumstances at Mitchell and Garran.

“We are conserving our usage of RATs until reliable supply arrangements have been confirmed and are in place,” an ACT Health spokesperson says.

“People who meet the criteria to be offered a RAT at Mitchell or Garran will only be offered a single kit due to supply constraints.”

The current turnaround time for PCR results is estimated to be less than 24 hours.

COVID-19 testing clinics at Mitchell, Garran, Kambah and Nicholls are open over the weekend.
