Ups and downs of today’s covid numbers

COVID hospital cases have risen, daily infections numbers have softened and the number of active cases in Canberra is on the rise, according to the latest figures from ACT Health today (June 19).

There were 809 (451 PCR and 358 RAT) new cases reported compared to yesterday’s 865, but active case numbers rose to 5310, up from yesterday’s 5074. The ACT has recorded a total of 146,264 cases of COVID-19 and 74 deaths since the pandemic started in March, 2020.

Hospital numbers have risen by four cases to 90 compared to 86 yesterday. Two people are in intensive care, but no-one requires ventilation.
