Violent bar brawl in Gungahlin, cops call for help

Siren Bar, Gungahlin… scene of Saturday night’s brawl.

CHAIRS, tables and bottles were used as weapons during a violent Saturday night brawl at Siren Bar in Gungahlin.

Gungahlin police initially responded, however the number of people involved and the level of violence led to officers being called from Civic, Operation Toric, crime detectives, traffic police and the Territory Targeting Team.

Several people, including uninvolved patrons, sustained injuries.

Two men were arrested and charged with affray.

North District’s Supt Mick Calatzis said it was disappointing to see police resources being diverted away from other priority jobs.

“We don’t tolerate any type of violence and our officers did a great job in their response and identifying those who we will allege committed these offences.”

Police want to speak to any witnesses, including anyone with mobile phone footage of the incident. Call 1800 333000, or on the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
