79-year-old man extradited on child-sex charges

ACT police have extradited a 79-year-old man from Queensland in relation to historic child-sex offences.

Investigators from the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team will allege the man sexually assaulted a child known to him between 1987 and 1993.

The man was arrested on Wednesday by Queensland Police in Brisbane and was extradited to the ACT on Thursday night.

He is facing three counts of committing an act of indecency upon a person under the age of 16 and one count of incest.

There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences in the ACT.
