An arrow was fired at police attending a residence in Symonston, narrowly missing an officer, on Saturday afternoon.
Police were attempting to speak with a man at the home when, they allege, his behaviour became erratic and he shot a hunting arrow using a compound bow towards police.
Police called for back-up and that’s when a second arrow was fired towards them.
After negotiation, the 49-year-old man was apprehended without further incident.
A search of the residence revealed another compound bow with an arrow, and a double-barrel shotgun and ammunition.
The man faces two counts of using an offensive weapon with further charges expected as investigations continue.
