A 30-year-old Gowrie man on bail and driving a stolen car, allegedly failed to stop for police on Saturday morning.
Police say he was sitting in a parked car around 7am with a man known to him. The pair got into an argument. The 30-year-old is alleged to have punched the other man in the face and taken his white Audi A3.
The vehicle was reported to police as stolen a short time later.
By 9.30am, police spotted the Audi in Kambah.
Police say the driver failed to stop, allegedly driving on to the wrong side of the road along O’Halloran Circuit, Kambah, and was further seen by police driving erratically along Namatjira Drive, forcing one vehicle off the road.
About 1.15pm, officers located the Audi in Gowrie and found the man inside a nearby residence hiding under a blanket.
He jumped through a window in an effort to evade police and after a short chase was arrested.
The man has been charged with aggravated furious/reckless/dangerous driving, driving a motor vehicle without consent, robbery, and driving while disqualified.
