A 48-year-old driver was booked for being seven times over the legal limit after colliding with another car on Anthony Rolfe Avenue in Gungahlin on Friday evening.
No one was injured in the collision.
Police say the man told them he had consumed two bottles of wine before driving from Jerrabomberra to Gungahlin.
He subsequently recorded a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.387 – seven times the legal alcohol limit – at the Gungahlin Police Station and was issued with an Immediate Suspension Notice, suspending his ACT drivers’ licence for 90 days.
He will also face charges of drink driving before the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
