An L-plate motorcyclist who told police she was “catching up to another set of riders to see if they were part of her group” has lost her licence for six months after being caught speeding on the Barton Highway on Monday.
Police were conducting speed enforcement activity on Barton Highway, Crace, when the motorcyclist passed through at 135km/h in an 80km/h zone.
The 21-year-old female rider, who held a learner motorcycle licence, was fined $1841 as well as six demerit points. Her licence was also immediately suspended for 180 days.
