Man charged with strangling partner twice

A 33-year-old man will face court after allegedly assaulting and strangling his partner at her home in Canberra’s south overnight.

Police allege that about midnight the man threw a chair at the woman before strangling her.

A short time later, he allegedly struck her in the face and strangled her again.

The man, who was subject to good behaviour obligations, was arrested and charged with two counts of choking/suffocating/strangling another person and two counts of aggravated assault.
