KULTURE Break and the Hyperdome shopping centre are turning on two days of dance in the coming week, with the annual primary schools showcase, Dance Nation and the Futuristic Community Expo.
Dance Nation will be held at the National Convention Centre on Tuesday, June 30, with 16 local schools and over 500 performers interpreting this year’s theme of ‘Freedom’. Special guests are street performers from Sydney, Beat the Streets.
ON Saturday, July 4 visitors to the Futuristic Community Expo will be entertained by over 300 community performers and appearances by special guest Stan Walker, winner of 2009 Australian Idol.
This annual fundraising event will be held in the Eternity Church Auditorium at Kambah with two performances at 4pm and 6.30pm. This year a portion of the funds raised will be donated to the Tara Costigan Foundation.
CEO and Founder of Kulture Break, Francis Owusu, says, “I am privileged to have the opportunity to work with students, youth and all involved to put on such incredible performances for the community.”
Established in 2002, Kulture Break is a Canberra charity youth services provider with a community arts focus.
