RICHARD Johnson and the SoundOut Music Festival organisers have only until 9:40 am tomorrow (Thursday) to raise the $870 need to make its Pozible crowd funding campaign a success.
It’s to be a wild and weird free improvisational jazz and experimental music festival, about to turn 7, or as its founder and director, the clarinet and sax player Richard Johnson, puts it, “an incredible bristling explorative sonic arts event.”
Despite delays in funding, Johnson has artists from Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland and the USA and told them to “move sound mountains.”
Latest news is that two of the RHRR trio will not be able to come but will be replaced by the brilliant Dutch pianist Cor Fuhler and Australian bass/cellist Mary Rapp.
‘SoundOut 2016,’ at the Ainslie Arts Centre Main Hall, Elouera St Braddon, 1-5pm and 7 – 11:30pm, Saturday January 30, and 1-5pm and 7 – 11:30pm Sunday January 31, bookings to agac.com.au or tickets at the door. Further info about the festival at isoundout.wix.com/soundout2016
