Black Mountain burn today

THE ACT Rural Fire Service will conduct a hazard reduction on Black Mountain, weather permitting, today (Sunday 22 May 2016).

The burn will be approximately 1.76 hectares in size and commence at around 10:00am, between the Botanic Gardens and CSIRO, behind Black Mountain School near Christian Road.

Temporary smoke cover may occur in the areas around the burn locations. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
