Update: Woman in Casey assault found safe and well

THE woman who was allegedly punched a number of times and forced into an SUV in Casey on Tuesday (June 1) has been identified by police.

Police say she is safe and well, and support services have been offered to her.

Witnesses saw the incident at about 1.20pm on Tuesday. They reported that the offender, a man, was driving a silver Toyota Kluger SUV with ACT registration YMH11M at the time.

The Kluger, which had been reported stolen on Monday, left the scene at speed. It was then seen around the Civic and Braddon area before police recovered it abandoned in Moncrieff that night.

At this time no charges have been laid and enquiries are continuing.

Anyone that has information that can assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website quoting reference number 6813259.
