WITH an eclectic line up featuring everything from Jane and Jimmy Barnes’ cookbook to a Zoom conversation with Chilean writer Isabel Allende, the 2022 Canberra Writers Festival program was launched last night (June 29).
This is the seventh iteration of the festival, which boasts to be the only Australians writers’ festival to hold both live and hybrid events.
Artistic director Jeanne Ryckmans says the program marks a return to a live program, with more than 70 sessions involving 160 international and local writers, journalists, poets, activists, academics, political commentators, senators and satirists, presenting under the theme “Power, Passion, Politics!” at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, Kambri Cultural Centre, the National Museum and the National Press Club.
Beginning with a gala dinner at the National Museum and ending with the “Light Bulb Moment”, the event will run over four days.
