A 34-year-old Wright man is facing 11 charges following the alleged theft of two cars from a home in Garran on June 1.
Police say one of the vehicles was used in a number of offences over the following weeks, including thefts from parked vehicles broken into in Phillip, and driving offences across several Canberra suburbs.
Police found the other stolen car, a Lexus – with stolen and non-matching number plates -, at the man’s home in Wright where he was arrested a short time later.
The man, who was on bail for another offence at the time that some of the offences occurred, has been charged with unlawful possession of stolen property, driving a motor vehicle without permission, minor theft, driving while disqualified, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of crime, number plate not properly issued, and damaging property.
