Crunch! Cars collide on roundabout

“CityNews” reader Mike Welsh has sent through a couple of photos from the Belconnen Way-Kingsford Smith Drive roundabout at Higgins his afternoon (September 18). He says this is the third crash in six weeks with all the involved vehicles coming off the roundabout and crashing through fences.

There needs to be a speed limit applied to roundabouts. This would allow people that extra time to make decisions and to react.

Technically there is a speed limit: you need to approach the roundabout at such a speed that you can safely stop.

A bigger problem is incorrect indicating. So often, people don’t indicate if they intend to turn left, or indicate right if they intend to go straight ahead.
