ACT sportsgrounds to remain closed over weekend

ALL ACT Government sportsgrounds will remain closed for training and match play from today (October 7) until Monday, due to ongoing heavy rainfall.

Closures include turf sportsgrounds but exclude the Melrose and Nicholls synthetic fields and the Woden athletics track.

The decision has been taken in order to minimise damage to turf surfaces, and is in the interests of public safety.

An assessment on reopening grounds will be made on Monday.
