A LATHAM man has been caught drink driving twice in less than two hours on Canberra roads.
Police spotted a Holden Commodore ute stopped on the wrong side of the road about 4.10am on Sunday (October 23).
The 24 year old driver, who appeared to be disorientated, was taken to Belconnen Police Station where he produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.149.
The man’s licence was immediately suspended and he was released from custody.
Less than ten minutes later, police noticed that the man’s ute was gone.
“Suspecting the 24-year-old had driven the vehicle, officers attended his residence, and soon after, they observed the man in his utility drive into his street and pull into his driveway,” the spokesperson said.
The man was again taken to Belconnen station, where he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.130.
He was charged for unlicenced driving, and twice for drink driving, and will face court in November.
