Have you seen three stolen, abandoned cars?

Three stolen cars sought by police

THREE stolen cars – a white Volkswagen, a grey BMW and a blue Subaru – are believed to have been abandoned in Kaleen or surrounding areas.

About 11am on Friday, police responded to reports of three cars traveling together in the Belconnen region, where police say the occupants appeared to be scouting residences to commit offences.

Officers responded to the reports and found the cars, but lost sight of them again a short time later.

About 12.10pm in Kaleen, a group of four boys who matches the description of those in the vehicles were found on foot and arrested.

Police believe the cars have been abandoned in the surrounding area.

The Volkswagen bears ACT registration plate YKL33X, the BMW bears ACT registration YMO26J, and the Subaru bears ACT registration YPT35Z.

Members of the public in Kaleen, Lawson and the surrounding suburbs are being asked to check their driveways, car ports and public parking in apartment or townhouse complexes for the cars.

Anyone with information should contact police on 1800 333000.
