Police swoop on drugs in Reid

A 58-year-old man was arrested after police seized drugs during a search of his Reid home on Friday morning.

He has been charged with drug trafficking after police and drug-detection dogs searched the Ainslie Avenue residence.

Police say the swoop follows an investigation into the source of illicit drugs being trafficked in the city area.

They seized:

  • Clear bags containing a white crystalline substance, believed to be methamphetamine,
  • Several bags containing a white powder, believed to be cocaine,
  • Multiple mobile phones,
  • Shotgun shells,
  • Multiple identify cards not belonging to the 58-year-old man,
  • Suspected cannabis matter, and
  • Other drug paraphernalia.

The man faces the ACT Magistrates Court charged with possessing a prohibited substance, possessing ammunition, and trafficking in a controlled drug.

When the Greenbor council encourages our kids to take hard drugs by removing most of the legal consequences, what do they expect will happen?
