‘The Block’ beats rugby in ratings

THE Canberra Origin 3 audience was more than 35,000 viewers down on the 110,910 who watched Origin 2, reports Grey Advertising in its weekly media newsletter “Eye on Media”.

This is despite record national ratings for the game which hit a peak of 4.825 million (five city metro and regional).

WIN won’t be too unhappy, though, as the top show for the week was The Block’s winner announcement, with more than 93,000 viewers. Unlike last year, all four of the properties sold, with the winners taking home what is believed to be the largest cash prize ever awarded on Australian television.
