An 18-year-old man was found hiding in a stormwater drain after allegedly driving dangerously and fleeing police on Sunday night.
Police first received a report about a road rage incident involving a white Mitsubishi Lancer on the Barton Highway about 9.15pm.
Officers found the car in Lyneham a short time later, but the driver allegedly accelerated through a red light when police tried to stop him.
About 10.15pm, police again spotted the car leaving an Ainslie home and began a pursuit after the driver allegedly failed to stop.
Police allege the driver travelled without headlights, drove on the wrong side of the road and onto footpaths in a residential area before the car’s tyres deflated.
The driver allegedly abandoned the car and fled on foot before police found him in a stormwater drain.
The 18-year-old Goulburn man, who was subject to bail conditions, has been charged with contravening a family violence order, aggravated dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
