Canberra junior Aliza Atif has been crowned Australian champion after winning the Girls Under 11 title at the 2026 Australian Junior Championships in Devonport, Tasmania.

Aliza went through the tournament without dropping a game, becoming the ACT’s first junior national champion since Amalia Ricketts in 2020.

Her victory follows a strong year for junior squash in Canberra, with more than 30 players now competing each week in a Friday night competition across Dickson Squash Club and South Canberra Squash Club at Woden Squash Centre.

The ACT Junior Team also won the annual Green Shield in June, defeating regional teams from across NSW.

Squash ACT says Aliza joins former ACT junior national champions including Ricketts, Peter Nuttall, Stewart Boswell and Laura Keating.
