Speeding driver caught with wanted woman

A 35-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly speeding and driving with methamphetamine in his system while carrying a woman wanted by police.

Police stopped a Toyota RAV4 travelling at 110km/h in an 80km/h zone in Throsby about 7.30pm on Monday.

The driver allegedly had an expired licence, was breaching bail conditions prohibiting him from driving and returned a positive roadside drug test for methamphetamine.

Police also found a woman in the back of the vehicle who was not sitting in a seat. Checks revealed she was wanted on an arrest warrant.

Both were arrested, with the man facing charges including speeding, unlicensed driving, carrying a passenger without a suitable seat, using a suspended vehicle, displaying improperly issued numberplates and driving with a drug in oral fluid.
