Domestic dispute call leads to drug bust

A CALL for help after an alleged domestic dispute led to a surprise drug bust by police last night.

Police were called to an Evatt home around 10.25pm after reports that the 38-year-old male resident had allegedly been assaulted by his former partner.

After entering the property, police found over 30 well-developed cannabis plants in the man’s backyard, ranging from seedlings to well-developed plants, in the backyard.

A small-scale hydroponic set-up was found in a garden shed and a quantity of dried cannabis inside the house.

The resident of the property will be summonsed to face court at a later date.

Investigations into the alleged assault are ongoing.
