Airline staff stood down before Christmas

BRINDABELLA airlines went into receivership yesterday and 140 of its staff, including 70 from Canberra, were temporarily stood down without any form of payment or compensation.

Brindabella

Started in 1994 and based in Canberra, Brindabella services regional New South Wales destinations including Orange, Mudgee, the Snowy Mountains, Moree and Tamworth.

It also operates charters for fly in, fly out workers.

Expressions of interest in the purchase of the business are being invited but it will not operate in the meantime.
