Civic office evacuated after gas smell

ALMOST 200 workers were evacuated from a Civic office building this morning after a strong smell of gas was reported.fire1

Crews conducted a sweep of the nine storey building, on Moore Street, but no gas was detected.

ACT Fire & Rescue have three pumpers, the Hazardous Materials Unit, Breathing Apparatus Van, Bronto Skylift Hydraulic Platform and a commander were on site.

The ACT Ambulance Service were on scene but did not treat any patients.
