BIRDS of Tokyo will be in Canberra tonight at UC Refectory, Zierholz.
Appearing as the opening performance in the 2013 ARIA Awards in December, the alternative rock band from Perth saw their video ‘Lanterns‘ come in at number one slot in the 2013 “Rage Fifty”.
Earlier in 2013, Birds of Tokyo performed a national run of sell-out shows and received rave reviews for dates across their “March Fires” album tour, with “Lanterns” named the ‘Most Played Australian Song on radio’ for the first 6 months of last year.
Its’ legendary now, but they based their stage name on an article that got them thinking, “no birds in Tokyo? — we thought, we’ll be the birds of Tokyo”,
Sydney based indie rock outfit Glass Towers will be the support act tomorrow.
Birds of Tokyo, UC Refectory, University of Canberra Thursday February 13, bookings to oztix.com.au or 1300 762 545.
