WHILE some in the Canberra commentariat were relishing the prospect of a Stanhope / Gallagher preselection contest it seems it is not to be.
The former Chief Minister has offered a warm endorsement of his protege to win the pre-selection.
I am extremely happy that Katy Gallagher has nominated for the impending vacancy. She will be an outstanding representative of the people of Canberra and for the ACT. She has great experience and the capacity to be immediately promoted to the front bench and to be a Minister in a future Labor Government.
I cannot think of anyone else who would have my unequivocal support for [the] position.
