Canberra artists and arts organisations will receive an $8 million funding boost as part of the 2026–27 ACT Budget, with the Government saying the money will support local creative industries and increase access to arts programs and events.
Construction has begun on a new signalised pedestrian crossing on Canberra Avenue, in a move the ACT Government says will improve safety for students crossing the busy arterial road near nearby schools.
The ACT Government will spend $44.2 million over four years to help support people affected by domestic, family and sexual violence, as part of the 2026–27 Budget.
Police are seeking the whereabouts of 33-year-old Bradley Booth, who is wanted over multiple alleged offences including family violence, breach of bail, aggravated property damage and aggravated common assault.

The ACT Government should adopt stricter fiscal targets, including returning to cash surpluses and setting clear debt limits, according to a report to the Legislative Assembly by independent economist Saul Eslake.
