Tastes of the bush

The Bush Tucker Tasting activity for kids is on today.

KIDS can taste bush tucker cooked the traditional way today at Tidbinbilla.

The Bush Tucker Tasting, will be conducted by an Aboriginal ranger, who will cook bush meats including possum and wallaby.

“The Bush Tucker Tasting activity is the perfect way to entertain the kids with a hands-on activity learning to make traditional bush tucker,” said David Dobroszczyk, Acting Manager of Tidbinbilla.

“With the guidance and assistance from a Ranger at Tidbinbilla, children can gather around the campfire and get the chance to taste some creatures of the bush – the tucker that Ngunnawal people have feasted on for thousands of years.

“As part of this month’s Explore Program at Tidbinbilla, families will also get the chance to search for koalas, feed pelicans and meet Tidbinbilla’s reptiles and frogs.”

The Bush Tucker Tasting activity at the Visitor’s Centre, Tidbinbilla, Paddy’s River Road, 2 – 3 pm (participants are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early), today. Bookings are essential, $5 per person plus Tidbinbilla entry fees.
