About 2.30am, the young man was standing in the queue waiting to be served when a pair entered and allegedly pushed in front of the victim. Police say after an exchange of words the victim collected his food and sat down.

A short time later the victim was approached by the man, who then punched the victim several times to the face, say police.

The bashing left the victim with extensive facial injuries. After the attack, the victims’ mobile was allegedly removed from the table by the woman.

The male offender is described as being of Indian or sub-continental appearance, dark skin, about 188cm (6’2”) tall, with a medium build. He was wearing jeans and a light blue long sleeved shirt.

The woman is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 165cm (5’5”) tall with a thin build and long, blonde hair.

Anyone able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
