What mum really wants for Mother’s Day

STUCK for what to get mum for Mother’s Day? A new survey suggests that some time out and a cup of tea may just be the prefect treat.

According to the survey, commissioned by Tetley tea, 34 per cent of mothers would love some time to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea with a newspaper or magazine, more than an expensive gift.

These mums also said that a special breakfast was an important break from routine that they enjoy on Mother’s Day. This will give the family quality time together before she tends to her own mother or mother-in-law. But 44 per cent of those mums had to make their own breakfast last Mother’s Day with many claiming they then had to clean up afterwards.

Not surprisingly, not having to do the housework also came out as important for a great Mother’s Day. In fact, the mums surveyed  listed “still having to do chores” as the most trying thing about Mother’s Day.
