BRINDABELLA airlines went into receivership yesterday and 140 of its staff, including 70 from Canberra, were temporarily stood down without any form of payment or compensation.
Started in 1994 and based in Canberra, Brindabella services regional New South Wales destinations including Orange, Mudgee, the Snowy Mountains, Moree and Tamworth.
It also operates charters for fly in, fly out workers.
Expressions of interest in the purchase of the business are being invited but it will not operate in the meantime.
Who can be trusted?
In a world of spin and confusion, there’s never been a more important time to support independent journalism in Canberra.
If you trust our work online and want to enforce the power of independent voices, I invite you to make a small contribution.
Every dollar of support is invested back into our journalism to help keep citynews.com.au strong and free.
Thank you,
Ian Meikle, editor
