POLICE are seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery near Belconnen town centre last night.
According to the police report, two men of Caucasian appearance and one man of African appearance confronted the victim as he walked along Hennessy Street at about 11pm.
One of the men blocked his path and asked him for a cigarette, before the group used intimidation tactics to demand his mobile phone and backpack and then left the scene along a footpath beside Hennessy Street.
According to the description circulated by police, one of the two Caucasian men was wearing a grey sweater and the other had on black jumper, while the third of African appearance was approximately 170cm (5’7”) tall and wearing a grey jacket.
Police ask anyone with information that could help with the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
