Beware the watch thief

Face Fit

ACT Policing is investigating the theft of two watches from a jewellery store located in the Canberra Centre, Civic yesterday (October 16).

Around 2.10 pm, a man entered the jewellery store where he requested to be shown the watches by a shop assistant. Shortly after he grabbed the watches and ran off.

The offender is described as of Asian appearance in his mid-30’s, slim build and approximately 168cm-173cm (5’6”-5’8”). He was wearing blue pants, a tweed style jacket, white hat and sunglasses.

Reports suggest he may be responsible for a similar type of theft from the Westfield Woden a week ago.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police or anyone who may have information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
