CAPITAL Metro have unveiled their “pop up” shop front in the middle of the Civic bus interchange.
Accompanying the launch is a very exciting video of Canberra’s terrifying robotic future.
The video lays out routes for the entire light rail network, a new City Hill, and the new Civic football stadium.
It also pulls a neat trick passing off a modern drawing of Canberra as if it was an original sketch by Walter Burley Griffin, a weirdly circular way to demonstrate that all is part of some ordained plan.
The printed material features a very handy guide to incorporating light rail into one’s life, featuring top tips about waking up, eating breakfast, luncheoning in Dickson, and buying groceries from a local grocer.
The community is invited to gaze at the map for the Civic-Gungahlin route and suggest two stops that are surplus to requirements.
Simon Corbell is very keen for you all to visit the shop front.
“This is the first opportunity for the community to see what light rail in Canberra might look like and I would encourage everyone to visit the pop-up shop, look at the proposed design and provide feedback,” Simon said.
“As this is an early design, no decisions have been made on the final product, so this is the most opportune time to influence the end design.”
You can see all the furnished materials on the Capital Metro website.
