Happy as Larry – concert marks Sitsky’s 80th

GIRLS’ Grammar School piano teacher, Suzanne Hewitt, was first off the mark in a year marking the 80th birthday of Canberra’s most famous composer, Larry Sitsky, with a concert in which her talented pupils performed works written by him for young keyboard artists.

Sitsky was on on hand to assure them that, unlike most composers, he was still alive.

Hewitt was, onlookers said, “as happy as Larry”.
