Jamison contributes to the annals of bad parking

FOR a harmless, in fact quite pleasant, corner of Canberra something about the Jamison Centre seems to let slip wild creatures of parking madness in the minds of those who drive to it.

On a very busy Saturday morning “CityNews” was particularly impressed by the pictured effort.

If you see an example of notably bad parking around Canberra do feel free to whip out your phone, take a snap, and mail it in to john@citynews.com.au .

So true on every point, Dan. What I try to do is back in with my passenger side about 5cm from their car so I’m still within my parking space (drive in similarly if the offender is then on my left). Thus, if they leave first, parking reverts to normal & in any case I’m not causing an impossible situation for the next spot & I have room to get in & out the driver’s door. This works well with my $110 work car which wouldn’t notice a scratch & especially if it’s close to their driver’s door so they have to get in the passenger’s side & climb across. Those who park in disabled spaces without authority should be towed & impounded & have to pay an expensive release of cost plus penalty. (I’m not disabled but really feel for those who are).

Have you never parked like this because the car in the space to the right is way over the line? When they leave, it makes you look like a moron. There is certainly a point to be made, however, a photo doesn’t always tell the whole story. The real boguns are the ones who use disabled spaces for their convenience.

The ACT Government is keen to create replacement jobs. Why not employ more parking inspectors? They generate more revenue than they cost and they make legal parking easier for everyone else.

If only such sense were to prevail Chris.

I fear nobody could win an innovation award for a simple effective idea well executed.

Keep it up John. Have missed the bad parking on RiotACT.
