Queanbeyan Art Society Charity Art Show running on City Walk

THE 7th Queanbeyan Art Society Charity Art Show is currently on in Civic’s City Walk.

With 310 art works from the Queanbeyan Art Society members and artists from the Canberra Region, Queensland, Southern Highlands and the South Coast this year’s popular Art Show is definitely the best so far.

There has been a willingness by buyers from most states of Australia to take art back home after a week in Canberra visiting Floriade.

The Art Society is supporting Snowy Hydro Southcare with this year’s Charity Art Show and by all accounts the excellent sales and commissions will benefit this worthy organisation.

One of the great cost saving initiatives for the Charity Art Show is the use of a 50m long Australian Defence Army tent erected by volunteers.

It is the third year the army tents have been made available for the Art Show, saving $5,500 in costs.

Sponsorship by King O’Malley’s Pub pays for security and the screens to display the art works.

Also on sale is the Queanbeyan Art Society annual Art Calendar (2015) in which every member’s work is represented.

The Art Show will finish when the volunteers pull the tent down on Sunday 28th September 2014.
