POLICE found a stolen, loaded rifle while searching a car following a traffic stop in Gilmore yesterday.
About 3.45pm, a stolen Nissan Pulsar was stopped by a police patrol on Heagney Crescent, Gilmore, and a 26-year-old female . A male was arrested in relation to the stolen car. On searching the vehicle, police found a loaded, shortened .22-calibre rifle and ammunition.
Police later visited the residence of the male occupant of the vehicle and seized two more guns – a .22 calibre long arm and a home-made single-shot .22 calibre spring action firearm, along with ammunition.
