Scullin burglars caught in the act

police

ACT Policing apprehended a 27-year-old man from Queanbeyan and 14-year old teen from Florey, for burglary on a house in Scullin on Saturday (29 August).

About 2pm, the two alleged offenders entered the rear yard of a residence in Ross Smith Crescent and forced entry through a side sliding door.

A short time later, the owner came home to find the two inside the house. The offenders fled with stolen property through the back yard and left in a maroon Mazda 323.

After taking statements from the resident and neighbours, police conducted a search and located the vehicle and offenders a short time later in Macgregor.

Both will appear in court this morning on charges of property offences.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously. Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
